In today’s world, we are all busier than ever and looking for ways to simplify our workload. The following instructions on how to set up a Default Journal Entry Transaction at the user level will be an awesome time saver.

When launching the Journal Entry function, the user may be presented with multiple journal entry transactions from which to choose. The steps below will walk you through how to set up X3 so that only one display is for that user. This not only saves time but also prevents the user from becoming confused and overwhelmed.

Steps for Displaying One Journal Entry Transaction

  1. First, navigate to Setup > Users > Users.
  2. Then, find the user in the left margin and select their name. This will bring up information on that specific user.
  3. Once you've viewed and verified the user's information, select the "Parameters" tab located at the top of the page.
  4. Scroll down until you locate the line with "Accounting" in the Chapter column and "DEF" in the Group column.
Users - Parameters - Chapter (Accounting) and Group (DEF)-1
  5.  Left-click on the ellipsis (three vertical dots) in that same line next to "Accounting." Three options should show up: Popup view, Detail, and Parameter search. Select "Detail."
    Users - Detail
  6. You should see the user parameters details for Chapter "CPT" and Group "DEF." The value field for the parameter "SCHSAISIE" should either be set to "1PAGE" or blank.

  7. Select the "OK" button located at the right-hand corner of the page.

  8. Click "Save."
  9. In order for this to take effect, log out of your X3 environment and log back in.
