Sage has announced the launch of Update 10 for Sage X3 Cloud customers. This newest update includes a collection of new features with an emphasis on addressing a few functional gaps in the areas of Finance, Distribution, and Manufacturing.
Here’s a look at the most important changes introduced in Sage X3 Update 10.
Finance, Distribution, and Manufacturing Enhancements
Here’s a quick summary of the improvements in Finance, Distribution, and Manufacturing:
Financial Management - budgets are now more flexible with up to 9 dimensions (up from the previous max of 3), the ability to simulate the result of automated journal entries, enhanced flexibility of reminders, and improved management of payments and discounts.
Sage Intelligence Reporting - integration of Sage Intelligence Reporting into Sage X3 Cloud (as the core financial reporting solution) marks the first step in preparing for the future replacement of the current financial data extraction tool.
Here's a quick peek:
Distribution - updates to the distribution suite include logistics workflow improvements (shipments and carriers), lot traceability on subcontract orders, new multi-counting in inventory that allows multiple people to count the same product, and a customer service calendar widget in CRM with links that allow you to jump to the original documents with a click.
Manufacturing - the previous Update 9 delivered versioning for the product and BOM. Update 10 now incorporates versioning in routings. In addition, shop floor tracking improvements make it even faster and easier to capture accurate labor and production costs.
Other Improvements
Other notable enhancements in Sage X3 Update 10 include:
Mobility - several improvements were made to the mobile interface with the primary objective of giving more real-time visibility in secure mode and to reduce delays in decision-making. These changes include leveraging native Windows 10 features like sharing, notifications, live tiles, barcode scan, Cortana integration, and more. Mobile improvements also include management of drafts (offline edits and synch), auto-fill templates, memos, and drill down/up on queries.
Platform Enhancements - support for multiple application servers (no single point of failure), easy updates, derivate languages, API management, batch controller, Cloud provisioning improvements, and RDS support for MS SQL 2014.
NOTE: Sage X3 Update 10 is available for cloud customers only. The next version and update for Sage X3 on-premises customers is currently scheduled for February 2017.
