Soon after Sage acquired Intacct, the industry leading Cloud financial management solution, RKL eSolutions jumped at the opportunity to add the newly branded Sage solution product to our portfolio. Several of our long-time customers have wondered how we position Sage Intacct in our portfolio and if they should consider a switch to Sage Intacct. In this blog, I’ll provide the most common triggers that cause Sage 100 and Sage 500 users to evaluate Sage Intacct as its next solution.
Solution Accessibility
Sage Intacct is a native Cloud solution and has been from its inception. Utilizing open source code technologies and server load sharing, it’s optimized for multitenancy and scale. Sage Intacct customers enjoy browser-based accessibility, anytime from anywhere. Gone are the days of client workstation application installs.
If your IT team is struggling to maintain remote connectivity for a mobile workforce, you can appreciate the simplicity – and efficiency – of a browser-based solution like Sage Intacct. Both Sage 100 and Sage 500 are client-server applications which means increased IT services to install, support and upgrade each user workstation.
With Sage Intacct, executives can access critical information from any browser and any device without Remote Desktop Connections, Terminal Services or VPNs!
Sage Intacct Delivers Financials Strength
The Sage Intacct development team reimagined accounting software during its inception and aimed to improve financial capabilities instead of delivering the status quo. A perfect example of this concept is Sage Intacct Account Dimensions. Traditional midmarket accounting solutions utilize a fixed Chart of Accounts with segmentation that is often inflexible and rarely optimal for reporting analysis. Sage Intacct instead has introduced Account Dimensions which capture transactional characteristics as they occur. Common dimensional properties include projects, regions, product lines and statistic values. Because dimensional characteristics are captured at the transactional level, detailed business insights are available in real-time across multiple dimensional properties and delivered in standard reports.
With dimensional accounting in Sage Intacct, say goodbye to your pages and pages of unnecessary GL Accounts that were created because of variable segmentation combinations.
Sage Intacct also supports multiple entities, multiple companies, intercompany transactions, and multicurrency capabilities. Many of these features are lacking in depth or usability in Sage 100 and Sage 500.
Internal Collaboration
Sage Intacct Collaborate enables communication and sharing throughout the organization from within Sage Intacct. Imagine eliminating emails as a means of sharing information that is driven by your accounting solution. Sage Intacct Collaborate improves communication and teamwork by expediting processes and decision making across the business.
Project Accounting
Designed especially for Professional Service Organizations (PSO), Sage Intacct Project Accounting delivers capabilities to manage contracts, resources, time, billing and revenue recognition. Sage Intacct Project Accounting is the first accounting solution in the Sage portfolio built for PSOs and customers with project management needs. This functionality is delivered without the need for add-ons or customizations that are common with both Sage 100 and Sage 500.
Inventory Management and Wholesale Distribution
Sage Intacct recently released Inventory Management and Wholesale Distribution capabilities that we haven’t seen from other midmarket solutions. In addition to standard functionality like item management, multiple warehouse capabilities and kitting, Sage Intacct includes advanced features including one-step warehouse transfers, intercompany transactions, lots and serialization. Learn more about Sage Intacct Inventory Management from our recent blog.
Connectivity
Sage Intacct is a best-of-breed solution delivering standard Web Services APIs for connectivity to a limitless community of other solutions. Connectivity affords customers the option of keeping mission-critical applications while protecting their investments in expensive extensions without interruption.
