In 2014, the launch of Sage ERP X3 Version 7 was met with a chorus of praise from industry analysts and customers alike. But Sage isn’t stopping there - with new releases already scheduled and additional ’line of business’ features in the works, Sage ERP X3 will continue to improve your business processes and operational efficiency.
Here’s a look at the road ahead for Sage ERP X3.
Business Anywhere with Mobile ERP
With the release of Version 7, mobile technology became a native part of Sage ERP X3 - enabling you to access and update the system anywhere your business takes you and from any device. To further enhance this experience, Sage is planning on building more mobile applications and opening up the technology so you can build and deploy your own integrated applications.
Through an ecosystem of Sage Authorized partners and developers, you can also expect new mobile apps that will focus on Customer Support, Material Buyer, Purchasing, Stock Manager, Warehouse Manager, Workshop Manager, and Production Control.
'Line of Business' Features
The flexible technology architecture of Sage ERP X3 was designed to grow and adapt with your business. Sage believes that in the future, companies should have the option of picking and choosing additional features based on specific user roles or industry needs.
That’s why Sage is in the process of developing new Line of Business services that are delivered from the cloud and “sit on-top-of” your core ERP system. Sage Inventory Advisor is one example of this type of add-on ‘feature as a service’ that’s already available - and there are many more in development. These add-on services connect you to a whole new world of web-based apps that extend Sage X3 functionality across industries and user roles without costly customization.
Roadmap of Future Releases
In order to stay ahead of the curve, Sage is implementing more frequent product updates. With updates that are more continuous and incremental, it will be easier to add new features and functionality at a measured pace as opposed to “big bang” version releases which can take longer to implement and can be more disruptive to your business.
This new schedule allows Sage to be more responsive to customer demands for new features while delivering more frequent technology innovations.
