We had a customer that received an error opening a new fiscal year this week in Sage ERP X3. The error stated "No more than one fiscal year prior to or later than the current fiscal year". So in this case they were unable to open calendar year 2014.
So I searched Sage's knowledgebase and found the answer as follows:
V6 - "XXX Legal No more than one fiscal year prior to or later than the current fiscal year" when trying to open periods in a year (where XXX = Company). |
DESCRIPTION "XXX Legal No more than one fiscal year prior to or later than the current fiscal year" when trying to open periods in a year (where XXX = Company). |
CAUSE General parameter is set incorrectly. |
RESOLUTION Alter the parameter FRADGI to a value of no to work around this message. You can find this parameter under the TC module and then the CPT group. This parameter is specifically for French Legislation ONLY and MUST be turned off for any other legislation. Please also note, per the online help within X3:"If a company contains more than two open fiscal years with respect to the system date and parameter FRADGI is set to 'Yes', it is recommended to close the fiscal years beyond the second one before migration. Otherwise, a non-blocking message "No more than two open fiscal years" mentions this anomaly during the migration. It will not be possible to open a new fiscal year without closing the previous one first." |
What I Did to Resolve the Issue
The article above resolved the issue because the original parameter wasn't set correctly as Yes. We changed it to No and it resolved the issue.
In Summary
I would suggest that you do not forget about the Sage ERP X3 KnowledgeBase. It may not have all the answers but as shown here once in a while you get lucky.
