Microsoft Windows 10 End of Life: Benefits of Upgrading to Windows 11

Microsoft Windows 10 End of Life: Benefits of Upgrading to Microsoft Windows 11
1:47

Microsoft's Windows 10, one of the more popular operating systems for business and home users alike, continues to deliver a stable user experience. However, due to the aging and deprecation of its underlying technology, Microsoft has announced that it will end support for this specific version on October 14, 2025. This doesn't mean they will cease to provide software patches and updates, but it won't be available for free.

What does this mean for you?

First and foremost, Microsoft will cease to provide security patches entirely.  Any security vulnerabilities that hackers can take advantage of in Windows 10 can be exploited. Technical support for the operating system itself will also end directly from Microsoft.

Windows 11 takes advantage of modern technology to allow for a better experience in the operating system's user interface, as well as new biometric security features that have now become the industry standard for all devices to thwart attackers from compromising your devices.

Other benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • Boosted Speed and Performance: Windows 11 is better at processing background information for a smoother experience
  • Android App Integration: Windows 11 allows for Android applications to integrate directly into your taskbar
  • Customizable Taskbar: the taskbar can now be customized to take you directly to what you need

While the Windows 10 Operating System itself will still function normally after October 2025, it is going to be universally recommended that you look for ways to upgrade to Windows 11.  This will enable you to receive the best support possible, not only from Microsoft but from other vendors as well.
