Walt references a 2012 survey of small businesses from the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and Symantec where 87% of U.S. small businesses do not have a formal written Internet security policy for employees. The study further highlights that most SMB's (77%) say strong cyber security and online safety is important to their companies brand.
With October being National Cyber Security Month, Walt outlines ways companies can assess their online and network risk exposure. Some of the options include: developing clear policies and procedures, empowering employees, defending your equipment, and secure vendor relationships.
