How to Change Default Stock History Days in Sage X3

There is a misconception that altering the default setting for Stock History Days within the Stock Transactions Inquiry screen is not feasible. The default duration, 8 days, may not be practical for all business cases. 

Some cases where you may need to change the stock history days:

• You need to look back further to see the history of a product's movements
• You want to export a large amount of movement data to Excel to look for trends
  
  

The below steps will show you how to change the number of days to something that makes more sense to you and your business processes.

1.  Click "Setup," then go to "General Parameters," and click on "Parameter values."
   
   
2. Choose the STO Inventory Chapter. In the example below, it is called "PILOT."
   
   
3. Click on the three-dot icon on the Miscellaneous (MIS) option and click "Detail."
   
   
4. In the parameter of INQMVSLTI with the description of Transaction inquiry history, you can change the numerical value. The default is 8, but change it to something that makes sense for your business. In the example below, I changed it to 365. Click "Ok" at the top of the screen to save the change.
   
   
5. Click the Save icon on the parameters screen to save the change. Generally, you need to log out of X3 and back in for the changes to take effect.
   

Your stock inquiries will now default to the new number of days specified.
