Sage 500 ERP is a Client Server application originally built in the mid 90’s as a client server application that used as the client and SQL Server as the relational database management system. A significant amount of the business logic for Sage 500 runs in the SQL Server in stored procedures, views and triggers. Many companies have more than 10 years’ worth of data in Sage 500. There are some tables that grow to include 10 million rows or more. Some databases are approaching 1 TB in size. Spending time configuring and tuning the SQL Server and the Sage 500 Database can provide significant gains in operational performance. This webinar is designed for technical IT staff supporting the Sage 500 environment. In it we will cover general guidelines for configuring SQL Server on bare metal, virtually and on in public cloud offering. We will review key configurations within SQL Server for online transactional processing systems (OLTP). Finally we will cover configurations and optimizations unique to Sage 500. After completing this webinar, IT pros will be able to review and configure their systems to match the standard practice that RKL uses for Sage 500 installations. They will also be aware of code optimizations that are possible within the Sage 500 environment.
