Written by RKL Team | Mar 7, 2017 9:36:02 AM

We often get the question from clients how do we delete folders that are no longer needed from our Sage X3 and Sage Enterprise Intelligence (SEI)? This blogs walks through the steps to remove your folders and data from X3 and SEI.

How to remove your folder and data from X3:

  • Navigate to the console and click on the print server tab.
  • Double click your print server.
  • Click publications and select your solution.
  • Uncheck your folders and click apply.
  • Do the same for the webservers.
  • Log into the X3 folder
  • Navigate to setup, general parameters, folder’s and select the folders you want to delete, then click delete.
  • Navigate to the “folders” directory and physically delete the folders from this location as well as from the “x3_pub” directory location.

To remove a database from SEI:

  • Login to SEI as admin.
  • Click administration, Manage Env. & D.S.
  • Select the environment you wish to delete.
  • Select the DATABASE scheme (NOT the SEICube).
  • Click Delete.
  • Click on the X next to the environment you want to delete.

In SQL server manager:

(Warning – this should only be carried out by a trained SQL database administrator)

  • Connect to your instance of SQL.
  • Expand your database and right click tables.
  • Filter for your folder that you are deleting.
  • [DELETE]
  • Do the same for views.
  • Do the same for sequence numbers.
  • Delete the schema users and the [SchemaName]_report from [DatabaseName]> security > users.
  • Delete all references to the folder name under [DatabaseName]> Security > roles > database roles.
